Volunteer Fire Department

The Cecil – Washington Fire and Emergency Services was established in 1883 and continues to serve our community today. Located at 111 East Hofman Street in Cecil, we are comprised of up to 30 volunteer firefighters from the village of Cecil and the Town of Washington who diligently perform the duties needed to respond to emergency calls including vehicle accidents, house fires and other emergencies. Our goal is to keep our community, our members and visitors safe. We provide fire training, public education, fire & life safety, incident support, fire prevention, code enforcement, fire investigations, hazardous material response, and emergency response.

Annual Firemen’s Fest

Each year we look forward to our annual firemen’s fest where the community gets together to aid and support in funding our fire department. Our fest is packed full of fun each year with live music, bean bag toss tournament, food & drinks, basket & meat raffles. With the help of our generous surrounding communities, we have been able to purchase PPE, testing equipment, a rescue boat and trailer and most recently an aluminum trailer to transport our UTV to emergency calls. Our fest is held on the third Saturday of August every year.
